Location
The VCAD Library is located on the 5th floor of the historic London Building, in downtown Vancouver. The Librarian's office is where you check-out and return circulating books, course reserves, and other tech-related equipment, and where you can receive one-on-one research help.

LIBRARY SERVICES
Whether you need research assistance, homework support, or you want to learn more about the resources available, the VCAD Library offers a variety of services for students and faculty.
Research Help
The Library is available to assist students and faculty seeking information or needing assistance with research. Research help from the Librarian is available in person at the library during operational hours. More in-depth research help can be arranged by email at library@vcad.ca
Workshops
The Library offers several types of workshops that highlight the library’s print and electronic resources. Working with the instructor, the Librarian tailors instruction sessions to support course objectives, complement the syllabus and prepare students for a written or studio research assignment.
Course Reserves
The Library loans out course reserve items for condensed loan periods (either 2 hours or 1 day). Come to the Librarian's office to check-out your course reserve items for study. Faculty can visit the Faculty Services section to learn more about placing items on course reserve.
Writing & Citation Help
The Library provides help with citation & style guide useage. One-on-one assistance with writing and citation is available by appointment. Please contact the Librarian to arrange an appointment at library@vcad.ca. You can also sign up for a tutor session based on your area of study.

Faculty Services
Faculty Services
The Library offers all VCAD Faculty a number of specialized services, including customizable classroom instruction for students on effectively searching for resources for assignments, citation management help, and more.
Library Orientation Tours
The Library can provide scheduled library orientation tours for your class. These tours help students become familiar with the library and its services available to them during their time at VCAD.
Classroom Instruction
The Library offers classroom instruction on how to use library resources effectively for research and assignements. Through consultation with the instructor, the Librarian tailors instructional sessions to support course objectives, complement the syllabus and prepare students for a written or studio research assignment.
Course Reserves
The Library loans out course textbooks for condensed loan periods (either 2 hours or 1 day). Faculty can contact the Librarian to arrange placing any items on course reserve for the duration of their term at library@vcad.ca.
Request an item
The Library welcomes requests and recommendations for its collections. Faculty and student requests for current courses are given first priority.
