The Visual College of Art and Design (VCAD) of Calgary is pleased to invite you to the Michele Donohue Gallery Show, on October 24th from 5-7pm. Join us for an evening of art, lively discussions, and wine and cheese. A selection of Michele’s art will be available for sale.

Michele is a Canadian artist and currently resides in Rocky View County (Balzac), AB. Michele grew up in Whitehorse and spent a decade in North Vancouver, BC.  In 1988, Michele made a career move to Alberta and has remained ever since.

Michele is mostly self-taught but has participated in numerous art classes and workshops from various artists and schools, continuing to learn a variety of art mediums and styles. Constantly experimenting with different techniques and, occasionally, different mediums through her artistic journey, Michele has found her passion and niche in the world of contemporary art.

Michele works primarily with epoxy resin and works with and acrylics and alcohol for inks. Her contemporary art style is generally abstract with a touch of Impressionism. She finds her inspiration for her organic style from things found in nature, its colour, and its variety of forms. Her skillful use of colours allows the free interpretation of her work, thus giving her art a life of its own. Michele hopes that every piece is special and a joy for the viewer and some pieces, a source of harmony that comforts or intrigues the soul.

We look forward to having you join us for this inspiring and interactive event!
