I had a lot of fun on the journey to make this. My 2023 graduating demo reel contains my best projects I made during my time at VCAD! This video contains fully textured and lit creature and character models from franchises I am most interested in, like Pokémon, Star Wars, and even an original dragon concept!

This model takes inspiration from the Galarian regional variant of Slowpoke from the Pokémon Sword and Shield games. I wanted it to be semi-realistic, keeping with the original design while adding more elements from the animals this Pokémon was based on — hippos, giant salamanders, and otters!

This model takes inspiration from the Pokémon called Magikarp. Like my other Pokémon model, I also wanted it to be semi-realistic, adding a few more elements of the real life carp fish the original design was based on.

I am a big Star Wars fan, and Luke Skywalker is one of my favourite characters! This outfit in particular is from the Mandalorian/The Book of Boba Fett era. Sculpting this was good practice on capturing a likeness while also remaining stylized. For the texturing, I took inspiration from both Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the Arcane TV series.

This dragon bust sculpt comes from a years-old concept of a cotton candy dragon. It’s had many different iterations, all of which have been lost to time, save a very old one. I’ve since refined the design to something that would more fit my current style. The bumps on its skin mimic candy, and the colours are the same as classic cotton candy with pastel pink and blue, and a little bit of purple.
