404 Bug Club is a conceptual modern internet cafe with a social awareness focus. This is a cafe that sells coffees and food like a traditional coffee shop, but also has computers and wifi and access to gaming devices and everything online. Part of the proceeds from this cafe are donated to various communities that are disadvantaged by not having regular access to the internet and online services. This project was completed as a team with Ashley Ross and Enry Smith. The vibe and style for the identity and branding of this cafe is very nostalgic to the 90’s with bright neon colors, geometric shapes, hard drop shadows, and grid lines. Old style computer windows stacked on top of one another like pop-ups are a prominent feature used throughout the brand to tie the pieces together. The name 404 Bug Club comes from the error message you get when a link is broken on the internet and you can not get access. The focus of the cafe is to help those in need to always have access to the internet and its services as they have become such an integral part of our everyday lives

Over the last 55 years Vans has had enormous success creating quality products and marketing them to a specific niche market. The company’s roots and popularity have always been in action sports with a focus on skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing, and BMX. In the past these activities have been very male dominated, but as time passes more and more females and gender non-binary youth are showing interest and beginning to participate. The company needs to rebrand in order to reflect this shift and support an ever changing youth culture. Vans has significant presence and influence in these action sports and would like to use this re-branding as an opportunity to position the company and their action sport cultures to be gender neutral so that they can influence a growth in the overall market and empower more and more young people to live a life of self-expression and be their true self.

A re-branding and identity system for The Junction Pub. The Junction is a lively LGBTQ+ bar in the heart of Vancouver’s Davie Street Village. The establishment has recently undergone structural renovations and is focused on repositioning themselves within their target market as a safe space that is committed to showcasing queer entertainment and providing an environment where members of the community can come together to eat, drink, and socialize. To establish the brands new identity and reinforce it consistently with every customer interaction the project includes a standard collateral package, new menus, packaging containers for take-out, and branded materials such as coasters, stir sticks, and napkins.
