Welcome to the newly designed A-Frame home with a modern twist. This property is located in Calgary on 1111 14th st NW on a sloped sited looking over the city. Using the slope to an advantage by creating a stepped system creating more dynamic look to the home and property. The idea of the building started with a simple A- frame house, lots of lighting, natural wood and stone work while keeping a modern look. That in mind I took light woods for the trim and a nice spruce wood for siding. Then to create some contrast i used dark walnut doors, black steel beams and window frames. Finished with some smooth stone work around the bottom and edges of the house. Being the sunny city, I wanted lots of natural lighting throughout the whole house and rooms. The large windows on the front of the house facing the east so you have lots of natural morning light. For the south side you have a nice four section skylight, with a large sun-room. This is the modern A-frame house that has lots to offer for comfort and class.
