Playing video games has transcended into a form of meditative escapism over the past couple of years, especially with everything going on. This simple joy has surfaced a whole new variant of inspiration. The amount of creativity that gets amalgamated into bringing these games to life is genuinely incredible and otherworldly; the keen attention to detail, the imagination, the utter artistry - it's all truly mind boggling. This particular blade was illustrated after immersing myself in a story that included weapons forged from bug parts, and then later refined as a commissioned tattoo concept for a wonderful client. This design was created utilizing a symmetrical ProCreate canvas and a photo editing app called AfterLight.

Astral Harvest was an Alberta based collective who hosted intentionally inclusive and community focused events. Additionally, they curated one of the most high-quality family friendly festivals in the area for twelve solid years. This poster was created as a form of experimentation and commemoration; heavily implementing their particular artistic aesthetic and bold design. The colour palette chosen was to reflect the lights that would often dance in the sky alongside you at Astral, whereas the pattern was inspired by the indigenous creators that were always gracious enough to allow the event to be hosted on their land. This poster was mocked up in varying softwares, but finalized utilizing Adobe Illustrator.

This project was originally illustrated as a way to showcase attained skills in the world of surreal art. Gathering inspiration from intergalactic life forms and those that reflect similar oddity here on planet earth. There's a quote that circulates online spaces, referring to humans being created with the same atoms as the stars - this concept influences a significant amount of my work and even personal rumination. The original drawing was done with pencil, ink and acrylic - whereas the revision was refined utilizing ProCreate and Adobe Photoshop.

This piece was created for a pro-choice social awareness campaign. The inspiration behind it was extracted from existing paintings that implemented elements of human anatomy, nature and outer-space; a profound metaphor outlining how it’s all so connected and made up of the same atoms. The tones of the image were designed to feel expansive, tender, lush and even slightly extraterrestrial. The intention is to evoke a sense of imagination, serenity and approachability, as these particular conversations about our bodies and autonomy are monumentally important to engage with. This piece was created utilizing a symmetrical canvas in ProCreate and later edited in Adobe Photoshop.

This gender-fluid character was brought to life for an original queer-centric story and graphic novel that is currently in the pilot stages. We decided to name them Braunté Sherwood, not only to keep everything on the neutral side, but to also serve as a subtle monument to the brilliant (and late) Keven Sherwood-Easton. This felt incredibly fitting because of all the ways in which Keven radically defied societal norms while wielding her creativity to inspire others. Additionally, she always fought for human rights while protecting those most vulnerable, just as Braunté will in their journey. Ultimately, this character is an amalgamation of all of the bad-ass femmes and thems that inspire myself and my clients; extracting considerable design influences from comic books styles, horror manga and circus freaks. This piece was created in ProCreate and Adobe Photoshop.

Throughout my creative journey, making artwork for musicians has been a tremendous honour. This one in particular became a personal favourite because it was commissioned by my extremely talented little brother. His music is incredibly soulful, funky and upbeat; the lyrics are full of heart, thought and eloquence. The intention behind this album cover was to visually portray all of that, so we went with a cool-toned colour palette and an experimental fluid painting. The original piece was painted some time ago, then dropped into Photoshop and digitally altered for this album. The colours, details and movement were all enhanced until the image reached our vision.

There’s not much of a rationale to this one, other than it was born out of the eternal admiration for the forest dwelling creatures people often cringe at. The ways in which their appearances reflect the inherent creativity of nature itself is something that fuels my imagination every single day. Additionally, providing a different perspective for the aforementioned folks who hold a distaste for insects, showing them how much beauty they’ll miss out on if they don’t take the time to revel in the details. I find myself consistently gravitating towards recreating bugs and their beauty through my developed artistic style; focusing on bold contrast, negative space and shapes that keep the eye flowing through the imagery.

The original drawing was doodled in an old tattered art book, more recently refined utilizing ProCreate and a photo editing app called AfterLight.
