Derived from the Japanese word for friend (Tomodachi), Tomo Restaurant opening in the newly built Capstone Building will be just that, a friend. With an emphasis on Wabi-Sabi design, the space will attract a wide variety of clientel, with its cleanliness and beautiful imperfections. Boasting a dining space, bar and lounge for more intimate occasions, the design will feature natural materials, concrete and warm neutral colours. A focus will be put on acoustical protection within the space, universal design tactics and an emphasis on the natural light flooding in through the front windows.

A focus will be put on the climate and weather elements known to Victoria such as excess rain and wind so that their home is protected and feels comfortable during all seasons.

The clients expect the refurbishment to focus on luxury while being mindful of the environment and impact we all have on the climate. The space will feel sophisticated and elegant while still feeling simple and clean. This will be achieved through the use of modern furniture with timeless styles, natural colours and warm lighting choices.
