This design aims at maximizing the tourism potential of the city as a means of diversifying the economy by the almagation of the different cultures, religions and languages to provide and enhance communal living. It is the ultimate aim of this project to provide a template through which other of such centres can be developed in Calgary and eventually Alberta as a whole. The design involves the development of a centre with various functions and facilities on-site to create a HUB. This design project is therefore named, ‘THE HUB’. Facilities includeded in this design project are; Exhibition Hall & Gallery. Gym. Sports & Recreation Area. Multipurpose Hall. Food Court. Garden & Park.

The Byrd is a mixed-use strictly commercial building located in Downtown Calgary. It provides modern retail and office spaces for rent and lease. It makes use of an elaborate atrium system to naturally ventilate the building. The building is roofed in levels for added dynamism. There are 11 floors in the building.
