A structure designed for local BC artists, artisans, and performers to showcase and sell their work. A structure to humbly stand out as an international tourist attraction. A structure that cherishes the existing site conditions of the Vancouver seawall.

This eco design called Pythagoras House is challenged by the client's desire for a small footprint both physically and efficiently, limited to go no more than 8oo square feet for a young professional couple, and have building components that reduce energy usage.

Located in Burnaby, BC, the client’s desire was to have a house that was unique to others in the neighbourhood, provided adequate space for all four family members, and accommodated overnight guests. A personal challenge was to take advantage of the building height limit in the zoning by-law and have that third floor above ground rarely seen in single family dwellings.
