VCAD is proud to announce a modified articulation agreement with Yorkville University that now includes a Bachelor of Creative Arts (BCA).

VCAD graduates will now be able to continue their studies at Yorkville University and obtain a Bachelor of Creative Arts – in as little as 15 months – to develop the practical business and leadership skills they need to succeed in a number of creative art industries.

“[This new bachelor’s degree program offers] leadership, entrepreneurship, management and project management training for artists – with the unique slant that it’s for students in the creative industries,” says Adam Till, Director of Bachelor of Creative Arts at Yorkville University.

Catering to students and graduates in graphic design, video game design, fashion design, and many other creative art industries, this bachelor’s degree is aimed towards professionals that require the practical skills of managing teams and timelines, project budgets, and critical thinking in the cultural context of creative arts.

“We want them to be able set up their own production company and know how to do their own research, how to finance projects, receiving grants or tax credits, or even private financing,” says Till. “We want them to be able to [succeed] in these creative careers that they’re trained for, after they’ve completed their [VCAD] diplomas.”

In addition to Till and his experience at Toronto Film School, the Yorkville faculty includes a diverse range of broadcast journalists, veteran writers, lawyers, and documentary filmmakers.

Focusing on topics from financial planning, project budgeting, and legal and ethical considerations in creative arts, students are able to study online or on campus at Yorkville University’s campus in Toronto. With added flexibility in mind, this 15-month program can be completed as part-time or full-time studies. Learn more about Yorkville’s new pathway program and how you can apply here.
