On Wednesday, September 25, VCAD graduates from Graphic Design, Interior Design, Fashion Design, Marketing & Merchandising for Fashion Design, 3D Modeling Animation Art & Design, and Game Development and Design presented their work at the VCAD Graduate Exhibition Show.

Future employers, prospective students, and other spectators were pleasantly surprised with the hard work and dedication they witnessed.

Interior Design students created unique retail spaces, with a focus on the West Coast and natural materials; Graphic Design students created entire business concepts, including logos, catalogues, packaging, and more; Fashion Design students created original garments that spoke to their musical interests, inspirations, and visual styles; and 3D Modeling Animation Art & Design and Game Development and Design students created fantasy, fictional environments and character models.

Graphic Design student, John Valdez, designed a conceptual urban boutique – Slate – and focused his efforts on sustainability and recycled products. Using motion graphics, a fixed colour palette, and custom typography, John created a fictional consignment store that could easily exist in Vancouver’s west side. See John’s Graphic Design project here.

Interior Design student, Spencer Graham, re-designed the concept of Kate Spade’s retail space into something more colourful and innovative. As a noteworthy creation, his store included a pendulum swing for Kate Spade’s classic purses to be displayed, as the focal point of the store. See Spencer’s Interior Design project here.

Game Development and Design student, Corinne Whitford, created an entire 3D environment, which included fire and flames, a moving river, tombs and chalices, and other fantasy props. See Corinne’s 3D environment project here.

Thank you to all of VCAD’s 2019 graduates for showcasing their exceptional work! We look forward to the next VCAD Graduate Exhibition happening in winter!
