Vancouver, BC – March 1, 2016 – Want to work in VFX, CGI, or special effects? Look no further. Visual College of Art & Design (VCAD) is now offering a Visual Effects Art & Design program to those who wish to pursue a career in the field.

When it comes to artistic talent, there’s definitely no shortage in Vancouver. Coined as Hollywood North, British Columbia is the third largest production centre in North America and houses almost 50 digital effects and animation studios including Sony Pictures Imageworks and Industrial Light & Magic. As the home to some of the largest special effects stages in the continent and largest film stage in the world, British Columbia is the ideal location for those wishing to pursue a career in television, film, or animation!

A career in visual effects can take you almost anywhere, from the big screen to the small screen. VCAD’s Visual Effects Art & Design program focuses on providing graduates with a solid foundation in the technical and artistic skills needed to be successful in the visual effects, animation, and CGI industries.

In creative fields, it is imperative that students gain the latest, most relevant hands-on training they need to become successful, which is why VCAD is not only equipped with state-of-the-art tools and technology, but also armed with a strong team of acclaimed industry professionals who are experienced in the fields they teach, making it one of the top art and design colleges in Vancouver.

The Visual Effects Art & Design program deliver the high caliber training students need in order to gain a competitive edge over other applicants. Upon graduation, students will possess a strong foundation in 3D animation and modeling techniques, digital sculpting, storyboarding, effects animation, lighting and texture, and many other techniques, all of which will prepare them for careers in a variety of CGI-based industries such as animation, post-production, and special effects studios. Along with careers in visual effects, graduates can also seek employment in game development companies, industrial design firms, or software producers.
