Julia del Rio is an Architect at Gapont Atelier in Liechtenstein and is currently pursuing a PhD in Neuroscience and Architecture. Currently, she is studying how the design of the built environment could be used as a brain training tool to fight cognitive decline associated with aging and dementia. Originally from Spain, she obtained the degree of Bachelor in Architecture at the Universidad Europea in Madrid.

Julia also works as a design consultant applying the concepts of “Neuroscience for Architecture” and “Healthy Urbanism" to create spaces that enhance users’ physical and mental well-being by the study of how enriched environments affect the brain’s neuroplasticity and human behaviour.

The plan to revitalize Calgary's downtown aims to attract more residents, workers, and visitors by creating a vibrant, mixed-use environment. Currently, commercial activity is concentrated on two main streets, 17th Avenue and 4th Street, which host the majority of the area's recreation and retail options.

Visualizations for the Schaan 2043 Exhibition - Schaan Tower, 2023

Exhibition and participatory process together with inhabitants of Schaan that explored concepts and questions generated by a radically sustainable approach. Visualizations were created exploring a futuristic image of the city, enhancing pedestrian route enhancement, walkability, and sustainable eating habits.
