Jean Nour

Program Coordinator of Architecture Design & Technology and Interior Design Programs

Architect at Iwanski Architecture

Jean Paul is an internationally trained architectural designer with a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture and New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE) accreditation.

His work blends architecture, technology, and sustainability to create spaces that prioritize accessible human experiences. Involved with both the UN-Habitat urban rehabilitation campaign and the Europe Readr project, a major focus is accessibility for individuals with mobility and vision impairment.

His senior graduation project, “Post-trauma Burj, Bujr el Murr,” was featured in both Dubai Design Week and the MENA grad show and has been selected in the Tamayouz Excellence awards for the Rifat-Chaderji Prize.

 

 

 

Jean Paul, as Program Coordinator for Architecture Design & Technology and Interior Design, brings a multidisciplinary approach to design education, encouraging innovation in aspiring architects at VCAD.

Post-Trauma Burj- Burj El Murr

Burj El Murr stands in Beirut as a monumental reminder of the 1975 Lebanese Civil War. It was constructed one story per day, impacting its surroundings heavily and abruptly changing the skyline of Beirut in less than 2 months. It is considered a traumatic symbol of modern-day conflict.

Mar Mkhayel is a crucial spot in Beirut. Housing influences from the French Mandate, the Ottoman Era and Lebanese typical homes. Its diversity is displayed throughout its streets, be it architecturally or socially.
