Home in the Hills is a private luxury home tucked away in Hidden Hills, California. The concept behind this design was to create a space where the interior and exterior coexist. This is done seamlessly with the use of a floor to ceiling water wall which flows into an indoor pond. Whimsical stepping-stones are placed across the pond that lead directly to an outdoor infinity pool, forming a unity with the living area and outdoor space. Eco-friendly elements are prevalent throughout the home with timber featured in the kitchen, living room and staircase. expansive greenwalls featured on the interior and exterior walls, and large bay windows placed throughout the home allowing plenty of daylight, thus reducing the need for artificial lighting during the day. The contemporary mix of concrete and timber featured throughout the home provide a bold yet refined contrast, and prominently displays the home’s concept of bringing the outdoors in. The display of balance and harmony through the combination of indoor and outdoor elements truly makes this home one of a kind.
