Summer Portfolio Show Showcases the

Graduate artwork on display at Harbour Centre Atrium from July 7-9, 2014

The Visual College of Art and Design of Vancouver (VCAD) will proudly shine the spotlight on its recent graduates at the upcoming Portfolio Show. Graduate work will be on display at the Harbour Centre Atrium on West Hastings Street for three days, starting July 7, 2014. An official Meet the Graduates reception will be held on Wednesday, July 9th from 5-8pm.

“Portfolio shows are an important part of the VCAD school year because they provide students with an outlet to meet prospective employers,” says Larry Heinzlmeir, VCAD’s VP of Marketing. “With the Summer Portfolio show, the grads will have their works on display for three days, allowing employers and the public to get a preview of the calibre of design our grads are capable of before meeting them at the main event.”

Showcasing the work of 47 graduates from the Graphic Design, Interior Design, 3D Modeling Animation Art and Design, Marketing and Merchandising for Fashion, Game Development and Design and Fashion Design programs, the Portfolio Show will provide an excellent opportunity for employers to check out the fresh new talent ready to make a mark on Vancouver’s art and design industry. The event is also a perfect opportunity for prospective students to learn how VCAD can help prepare them for art and design careers. Attendees will be able to ask instructors about VCAD's industry-leading programs, meet members of Vancouver's art and design community, and talk to grads about how to launch a career in the creative arts!

All VCAD diploma programs are designed to ensure graduates are prepared to meet the demands of their chosen industries by providing focused and specialized training on the latest tools, techniques and technology used by professionals in the field.

Graduate work will be on display in the Harbour Centre Atrium during business hours from July 7-9, 2014. The Meet the Graduates reception takes place on Wednesday, July 9th from 5:00-8:00pm.
