Fashion lovers around the world take stock after McQueen's death

Vancouver, BC - March 3, 2010 - It has been several weeks since the tragic death of Lee McQueen, better known as Alexander McQueen, shocked the fashion world. The British fashion designer was best known for his extreme designs, from his iconic skull scarves to his most recent reptile-patterned dresses and monster shoes.

McQueen's forward-thinking and unmistakable creativity were instrumental in helping his fashion house to bring couture designs to the forefront of the global community. McQueen did not just influence the fashion industry, but penetrated mainstream media and popular culture; his collaboration with entertainment diva Lady Gaga, his decision to live-stream the Spring 2010 fashion show on Nick Knight's SHOWstudio website, and his ability to push commercial fashion boundaries contributed to his genius.

The Alexander McQueen line will continue under a yet unknown successor, but what remains of the brand and company will always be a part of McQueen's brilliant legacy.
