Brighten up your closet and your smile this summer
Vancouver, BC - April 26, 2010 - With the hot summer weather just around the corner, we can't wait to lay in the sun with a cold, refreshing summer treat. Until then, we're channeling memories of summer fun through splashes of eye-popping colour.
This is the best time to pack away winter wear and bring out your favorite pair of shorts (denim cut-offs and preppy knee-length Bermudas), sundresses (floral), and sandals (flats or wedges adorned with metal studs and reptile patterns). Along with these basic staples, add flashes of bright colour in your everyday wear.
The Spring/Summer 2010 collections around the world delivered the same message: have a little of bit of fun this summer. Go bold with hot pink, keep it subtle with sunset orange and red, or stay cool and calm in teal and turquoise; adding colour to your wardrobe lightens your mood, and the moods of everyone around you, instantly. Take colour-matching tips from the houses of Versace, who paired electric turquoise blue with yellow and 3.1. Phillip Lim, who outfitted models in cherry red and brushed gold.
Lastly, don't forget the accessories! Long, dangling necklaces in silver chain or brightly coloured, chunky resin bracelets lift any outfit out of despair. Fuchsia lips and purple nail polish top off your look without being overbearing. So this summer try something new and bold; just don't be surprised if you feel a little extra bounce in your step.
