VCAD recently donated $5,000 to the St. Patrick Regional High School Choir in Vancouver in support of their 11th Anniversary Gala Concert. On hand to receive the donation was St. Patrick's Choir Honorary Patron, Senator Yonah Martin and musical director Patrick Mossman.
The donation from VCAD will be used to help the choir participate in international choral competitions and festivals. In the past, the choir has travelled to Cuba and competed against other schools in the Lower Mainland.
Close to half of St. Patrick's student population participates in the expansive choral program, which is overseen by the Director of Choral Activities, Tony Araujo. Mr. Araujo is also the founder and artistic director of the Corpus College Chamber Choir at UBC.
VCAD proudly supports the artistic efforts of staff and students at St. Patrick's, who will resume their choral training in September.
