VCAD officially launches social network profiles on Twitter, YouTube and Facebook
Vancouver, BC - August 20, 2009 - VCAD now has a greater presence on the web with the launching of official Twitter, YouTube and Facebook pages. Students will now have more opportunity to interact with the school through a medium they are most comfortable with.
Each social network profile offers those interested in VCAD first hand news of upcoming events, step-by-step art and design tutorials and highlights of student work. While VCAD fosters an intimate, supportive learning environment for its students, these interactive, social media sites will help past, present and future students and faculty engage in meaningful conversation and debate, as well as provide an outlet to showcase their work.
"With such a strong online presence, VCAD hopes to attract the best and brightest in the world of art and design. The school offers programs in industries that rely heavily on the internet and it makes sense to offer our students a way to interact through social media, as well as in the classroom," says Bohdan Bilan, Vice President of Academics at VCAD.
Twitter, one of the newest social networks, is a micro-blogging and networking site. VCAD will update followers throughout the week on the latest news and events taking place at the campus. Follow VCAD on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/VCAD.
VCAD will be featuring original tutorials, interviews and industry expert showcases on its new YouTube channel. Students, faculty and the general public are sure to get caught up in the high-quality video content VCAD has to offer. View original VCAD content at http://www.youtube.com/VancouverVCAD.
And a great place for students at VCAD to interact with each other and keep up to date on what's happening at the college is to become a fan of the Facebook Fan Page. The page will highlight news stories, photos and videos. Join the Facebook Page at http://www.facebook.com/VCAD.ca.
