VCAD grads to take advantage of international productions flooding Canadian market
Vancouver, BC - October 27, 2009 - International Animation Day on October 28, 2009 shines a light on talented animators around the world. With more and more talent hailing from the Great White North, young animators from Canada have an even better shot at international success. For those looking to capitalize on this booming industry, VCAD is now accepting applications for its 3D Modeling and Animation program.
"In the past five to six years, more and more VFX and game studios have opened up in Canada. We have also seen more VFX and animation for movies being done right here in Vancouver." says VCAD instructor Alex Greenberg. "Our grads are able to work anywhere in Canada or the world, as long as they present their best work."
The arrivals of Pixar Animation and Digital Domain in Vancouver will open up even more doors for well-trained, Canadian animation professionals.
"In my opinion, since Canada and especially BC are among the top places in the world to be involved in Film and Game industry, Canadian animators are very important to the international industry," says Greenberg. "Amongst artists around the world, Canadians are seen as artists who have been involved in many major movies and Hollywood blockbusters. In the game industry, Canadians have been involved in creating some top of the line games for the international market today."
The 3D Modeling and Animation program at VCAD trains students to animate characters, create digital effects and build a professional portfolio for use after graduation. Applications are now being accepted for January 2010 classes - those interested in the program can head to http://www.vcad.ca.
