Vancouver designers encorporate love of the environment into their clothing line

Vancouver, BC - March 10, 2010 - What happens when eco-conscious meets luxurious style? Lav & Kush, a Vancouver based sustainable fashion line, merges ethical and fashionable to create simple, beautiful clothing for women. Designed by Angela Saxena, Lav & Kush launched in Spring 2008 and will show at Vancouver Fashion Week in April 2010.

What's in a Name?
The story of Lav and Kush, royal twins born to Lord Ram and their mother Sita, comes from Hindu mythology. The twins were raised in the forest and eventually became protectors of the woods and representatives of music, dance, beauty, and strength-fitting for a fashion line dedicated to making and leaving a positive mark on the world.

The Collections
Following its debut in Spring 2008, Lav & Kush has had several successful collections over the last two years. The most recent collection for Spring 2010 showcases wearable designs with colour, flower prints, and feminine touches such as ruffles and bows. In particular, a long strapless print dress in deep purple and a shorter empire waist dress with bright flowers dotted across the hem are perfect for a day out shopping or a night out on the town. Amongst the many alternative fashion lines with eco-conscious clothing for yoga and active wear, Lav & Kush is a refreshing new option with eco-friendly clothing for work and play.

Giving Back
The most unique aspect of Lav & Kush is its Fashion Share program. The line supports various non-profits by donating a percentage of their sales and getting involved with organizations that help the environment. On its list of favourite non-profits are The David Suzuki Foundation, PETA, and Imagine 1 Day. By raising awareness of environmental practices, supporting the ethical treatment of animals, and helping build schools and sustainable communities in Ethiopia, Lav & Kush are on the right path to making a difference in the world.
